New Construction Painting
Builders, contractors and homeowners building new get one crew for interior and exterior painting, one point of contact, and painting that's coordinated with the rest of the build.
New Construction Painting in Ottawa
Painting a new house is not the same as repainting an old one. Fresh drywall is thirsty, joint compound needs time to dry, and the paint schedule has to fit between the drywall finishers, the flooring installers and the finish carpenters. Get the timing wrong and you end up with joints showing through the paint, trim that has to be redone, or a closing date under pressure.
We work with builders, general contractors and homeowners managing their own builds. One crew handles both the interior and the exterior, and you deal with one point of contact throughout. We fit our work into your build timeline and keep the site informed, so everyone knows where painting stands. Once you've moved in, our interior painting service is there for future colour changes.

Interior and exterior painting for new builds, with the right primer on fresh drywall and coordination with your other trades. One crew and one point of contact from start to finish.
New drywall and joint compound absorb paint unevenly. We apply the correct primer or sealer first, so the finish coats go on uniformly and the joints don't show through under strong light.
Every room, from the main living spaces to the bedrooms and bathrooms, painted to the colours on your plan. We work cleanly around surfaces that other trades have already finished.
Baseboards, casings, interior doors and closets are painted to match your spec. Closets are easy to overlook on a busy build, and we finish them to the same standard as the rooms they open into.
Paintable siding, soffits, fascia and exterior trim, finished with products suited to Ottawa winters. Having the same crew do the outside keeps colours consistent and gives you one less trade to schedule.
Painting fits between drywall and flooring, around finish carpentry and ahead of final fixtures. We plan our visits around your build timeline and keep the site lead informed about where we are.
New houses move as the framing dries and settles. Nail pops and hairline cracks during the first year are normal, and we'll explain what to expect so they don't come as a surprise to you or your buyers.
Our process
Preparation, painting and finishing, in the order that makes the result last.
We go over the finish schedule and colour selections with you, then look at the site once it's ready. That tells us which surfaces we're painting, what products they need and where our work fits in the build.
Painting depends on the drywall compound being fully dry and the house holding reasonable humidity. We line up our start with your site schedule and stay in touch with the site lead if dates move.
New drywall gets the correct primer or sealer first. Then we paint ceilings, walls, trim, doors and closets inside, and siding, soffit, fascia and trim outside, following your colour schedule.
We walk the house with the builder or homeowner, check lines and coverage in good light, and take care of any touch-ups the walkthrough turns up before the house is handed over.
Ottawa considerations
Ottawa's suburbs keep growing, with new homes going up across Barrhaven, Findlay Creek, Stittsville, Kanata and Orleans, along with custom builds on larger lots around Manotick and Greely. Plenty of those projects run through the colder months, when houses are closed up and heated. That can leave a new, empty home holding more moisture than you'd expect, and paint applied over damp compound doesn't perform the way it should.
We check those conditions before we start, and we keep the first-year settling that every new house goes through in mind. Nail pops and hairline cracks are normal, not a sign of poor work. If you're a builder planning upcoming projects, get in touch to talk about how our crew can fit into your schedule.
Plan for first-year settling. As a new house dries out and the framing adjusts, small nail pops and hairline cracks can appear on walls and ceilings. It's normal. Ask how touch-ups are handled when you review your proposal, so expectations are clear from the start.

Bare drywall paper and joint compound absorb paint at different rates. Without the correct primer or sealer, the joints can show through as dull or shiny patches once the finish coat is on. Priming first gives the whole wall an even base.
Yes. The same crew can handle interior walls, ceilings, trim, doors and closets as well as exterior siding, soffit, fascia and trim. Keeping it with one contractor simplifies scheduling and gives you a single contact for the whole paint package.
